And They Will Come

Knit Michigan rocks. Counting people through the door and the volunteers who make it happen, there were over 700 people.

Seems if you have a charity event with a score of brick and morter shops with their fiber goodies under one roof, they will come. Droves of fiber junkies. Knitters, crocheters, spinners, weavers along with family and friends who enable support their fiber habit.

At the knit crochet help table, the Black Sheep Knitting Guild did their thing. Teaching the basics of how to knit and crochet, and problem solving for those in need. All the yarn pushers Black Sheep seemed to be having a really good time.

At the weaving demo, there was a lot of interest in the rigid heddle loom and weaving in general. There was even one natural born weaver, a young woman. She came with her mom who has a rigid heddle, but it has never been used or out of the box. It has been there for over a year, when they get home, I’m thinking the mom has forfeited that loom.

And yes I did get to do a little stash enhancement............
